What’s Sweatworking Week?

aSweatLife is hosting its signature event - Sweatworking Week, which is a celebration of trying new fitness classes and meeting new friends all across Chicago and nationwide - it’s like the restaurant week for fitness. The theme of this year’s Sweatworking week is Sweatworking week PLUS! Fitness class plus something extra special at each event. PLUS in our signature style we will be perking you out with all the brand goodies. The summer celebration of fitness, friendship and fun you will not want to miss!

What’s happening during Sweatworking Week?

You’ll find us taking on workouts across the city of Chicago - in the morning and evening - closing out the week with a self-care crawl in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. You will also see us outside of Chicago as our community leads create unique Sweatworking pop ups at their local studios.

What can I expect from this event?

Join us for an unforgettable Strength & Recovery fitness experience at The Garage in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago, hosted by aSweatLife. This workout will include a 60 minute strength class followed by a 30 minute CHILL recovery session.

The Garage’s strength class is The OG class. A perfect blend of Strength and Conditioning. This class will get you back in touch with your inner athlete. Our coaches bring their own style to every workout, expect something different every time you come in. Leave winded, sore, and proud as hell.

After the class, all attendees will be guided through an ice bath recovery experience. Practice how you handle stress in a controlled environment to improve how you respond to stress in your daily life. You will learn how to up and down-regulate your autonomic nervous system giving you mechanisms over how you experience stress in your body and mind and better tools to alter your state. You might find that you feel extra relaxed following the cold exposure as you’ve entered into your parasympathetic state. It’s best to ride this wave and bring your day or night to a calm and low-energy place. Take it very easy on yourself. Everyone reacts differently, but it’s best to give yourself the opportunity to feel it out.

Why ice baths? It helps to build a stronger immune system, boosts your mood, improves HRV, reduces inflammation, connects you with breathwork, and helps you to recover faster.

And the best part? This class is only $5! As you arrive, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome and introduced to our community of fitness enthusiasts. We'll provide snacks and drinks, so you can refuel and recharge after your workout. PLUS, Frogtown Juice Co will be there to provide samples of their nutritious and delicious juices.

Tell me more about The Garage:

The Garage Chicago Gym’s name comes from where the community began: in CEO Gina Caifano’s backyard garage during the 2020 pandemic. She wanted to provide a safe space for athletes to build strength, conditioning, mobility, and, most notably, mental health. The Garage Chicago (TGC) community quickly outgrew the original backyard garage by word of mouth.

By the end of 2021, the gym moved into an old auto garage shop that we upgraded into a unique and stunning private training space. The gym’s mission is simple: move better and FEEL BETTER long term. Today, they offer Personal Training, Physical Therapy, and various strength, conditioning, and mobility classes that focus on high-quality programming and adaptability for any athlete, regardless of fitness level.

Parking: Street parking

What to bring: For the Strength class: Athletic attire, athletic shoes, bottle of water. For the Chill Session: Wear comfy, loose-fitting clothing, bring a swimsuit to change into for the ice, 1-2 towels, option: bring a change of clothes to wear during your travel home
