What’s Sweatworking Week?

aSweatLife is hosting its signature event - Sweatworking Week, which is a celebration of trying new fitness classes and meeting new friends all across Chicago and nationwide - it’s like the restaurant week for fitness. The theme of this year’s Sweatworking week is Sweatworking week PLUS! Fitness class plus something extra special at each event. PLUS in our signature style we will be perking you out with all the brand goodies. The summer celebration of fitness, friendship and fun you will not want to miss!

What’s happening during Sweatworking Week?

You’ll find us taking on workouts across the city of Chicago - in the morning and evening - closing out the week with a self-care crawl in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. You will also see us outside of Chicago as our community leads create unique Sweatworking pop ups at their local studios.

What can I expect from this event?

Get ready to move and groove at Free Mvmt Shop in the heart of Lakeview, Chicago!

Kick-off the evening with a high-energy dance class led by the founder of Free Mvmt Shop, Ashley Rockwood.

Next up, join the team at Literally Outside for a refreshing summer walk. This lifestyle brand and community is all about promoting inclusion for outdoor activities, so get ready to explore the beauty of Lakeview while getting some fresh air.

After the walk, it's time to get creative with Indigo & Violet and create your very own mid-year vision board. Let your imagination run wild as you cut, paste, and design a visual representation of your goals and aspirations for the rest of the year.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Wind down with crafts and socializing while enjoying tasty bevvies.

Plus you will walk away from all of our fitness events with handfuls of wellness focused brand goodies!

Tell me more about Free Mvmt Shop:

Free Mvmt Shop was born in 2018 out of a yearning for a space to gather as a group and workout. Creator Ashley Rockwood was re-entering life as a new mom and had just hung up her professional dancer shoes. With no desire/connection to the traditional gym environment and facing the reality that dancing in the studio was her passion and purpose, she set out to share this with the world.

Building the first pop up out of an old dry cleaner in the southport corridor with her bare hands, the journey began. A slew of experiences later, 4 other pop up spaces to follow, still standing and proudly growing our community of confident, creative people moving people.

Nothing is permanent. Free Mvmt Shop i s happy to be back in person, rooted down for a bit in their 6th studio space in Lakeview.

Tell me more about Indigo & Violet:

Indigo & Violet Studio is a Chicago-based venue for craft workshops and art parties. They focus on modern projects taught in a relaxed studio environment. Their mission is to provide a creative outlet to adults in a variety of mediums - including watercolor, macrame, floral, and plant workshops.

Tell me more about Literally Outside:

Literally Outside is a lifestyle brand on a mission to empower everyone to feel comfortable exploring the great outdoors. Black-owned, operated by two cousins, and supported by a team of family, they’re building community, raising awareness, and promoting inclusion outdoors. All while they curate threads to help us look good doing it!
